Northeast India, I can guarantee you, is a one-of-a-kind and amazing travel destination. The extraordinary hospitality of the people, the sheer majesty that descends, the cloudy panoramas, the ecological life, and the rich historical places will undoubtedly lure you to visit this solitary region, if only for a short period.

The remoteness of some locations, along with the difficulties in accessing them, can be expensive.

Despite the fact that the northeastern states have their share of highlights on India’s holiday maps these days, many people still consider them to be remote areas of the country. Apart from well-known festivals such as Hornbill, Ziro, NH7 Weekender, Tawang, Orange, Sangai, and Bihu, many people are unaware of the social fabric and diverse cultural history of North East India.

Women Entrepreneurship

A person who wants to visit these destinations must have the time and funds to do so. These are some of the reasons why exotic and remote locations cost so much.

Rivers, mountains, and lakes are some of the natural wonders of Northeast India.

There is a lot of curiosity about India’s unique region, which is deficient in information about the region and resources on the Internet. Only well-traveled nomads and adventurous adventurers have visited the remote parts of this region.

Exotic and Remote destinations to take you away from it all:

Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland, on the other hand, have become the standard with their well-known music festivals, which draw a large number of music fans and tourists to this area of India every year. Northeast India tourism is not restricted to jazz and music events. It’s a fascinating area known for its rustic beauty, rich historical origins, ancient traditions, and tribal cultures.

Exotic and remote destinations are usually not on commercial routes because they are difficult to access, which is one of the many factors that contribute to their high costs.

Each community group has its own style of life. The advantage of traveling this rural country is that you can experience it at its most remote. Each population group in North East India has its own way of life, which is distinct from the others in terms of language, costume, rituals, beliefs, and cuisine. For people who are visiting this place for the first time, it is both exciting and overwhelming.

River islands, lush tea plantations, cascading waterfalls, hidden caves, living root bridges, monasteries, endangered wildlife, gorgeous villages, national park wilderness, virgin forests, tin houses, and interesting stories about bounty hunters and their way of life are among the most important.

Northeast India will take you on an unusual journey, unlike anything. As we already know, Northeast India consists of eight states. Namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. bordered by Bhutan, China, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.

Breaking down the barriers to getting to hard-to-reach places:

Other Factors to consider when visiting a remote location like North East India:

Pre-Research:

Rather than starting you on a trip to Northeast India, we strongly advise you to conduct your homework beforehand. It’s critical to understand the basics of where you can go thereafter. It will assist you in developing your personalized itinerary and presenting your travel in a satisfactory state. There is no preliminary data on whether Northeast India is a region where people can travel in large numbers.

Before packing your bags and exploring Northeast India, it is advisable to conduct a basic internet search, review blogs, articles, topography, traditions, infrastructure, and food habits, and speak with people who have firsthand experience with the indigenous culture of the region. Northeast India is distinct from the rest of India, and each region takes a unique perspective.

It’s not just about the diverse ways of life of a country’s indigenous tribes. It’s also a good idea to receive advice on your travel plans from a qualified travel agent/travel operator in Northeast India. Like the facility, you need to explore as well as the various aspects that will assist you with the necessary information.

Travel advisory:

For a trouble-free excursion to Northeast India, contact a qualified travel agency. It will make planning and carrying out your journey much easier. In the Northeast, there are many registered tour operators who organize trips around the region. You can choose from a number of registered tour companies in the Northeast that offer tours around the region. You can explore alone in the Northeast if you don’t need to go with a travel agency. Exploration, on the other hand, requires a fundamental understanding of the area as well as extensive planning. Some things can go wrong as a result of your preparations, such as risky bus and cab incidents, a dangerous climate, and so on. In this situation, you are responsible for strange territorial waters on your own.

Itinerary:

You must include Northeast India in your travel plans. This part of India is distinct from the rest of the country. Before embarking on a journey to the farthest regions of northeast India, you must have a plan in place.  You don’t have complete access to everything in this location. You must prepare and carry out a clear plan. For long-distance parts, there is no regular bus service. Some locations in the Northeast require advance planning to ensure that you have a train, plane, or bus. As a result, it’s vital to plan your trip as carefully as possible so that you don’t miss out on too much. In most cases, haphazard planning is really not sufficient.

Don’t underestimate the journey’s duration. Road conditions in some states, such as Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, are not excellent even when they are at their best. This could be your next bumpy ride. Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Sikkim, for example, have improved road conditions.

Road and Traffic Conditions :

Guwahati, the gateway to the northeast of India. It shares connections by air and rail to India’s major cities. The nearest state is Meghalaya, which is only a short distance from Guwahati. Meghalaya Transport buses, non-public cabs, and shared city cabs are all options for getting to this state.

Fly to Mizoram or take a cab to Aizawl from Guwahati, Kolkata, Silchar, or Imphal. Guwahati and Aizawl are more than 500 kilometers apart and take more than 19 hours to travel.

There are no direct flights to Arunachal Pradesh*.  In all other situations, fly to Guwahati from any large Indian city and then take a cab to Guwahati, Assam. There are trains from Guwahati to a number of state destinations, but you should take a private or shared taxi.
Nagaland is all accessible by plane/train/bus. Calcutta or Dibrugarh are the closest airports to Dimapur. There is also a railway that runs from Guwahati to Dimapur. To go to the state, you can alternatively take a bus or a taxi.

Direct flights to Manipur are available from Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati, and northern Jharkhand. A day bus from Guwahati to Imphal is available.

Accommodation:

cost

In remote locations, it is always better to stay in private living arrangements. Homeowners will greet you with open arms and make you feel at ease. However, minimal amenities are prevalent. don’t expect too many of the typical in-residence facilities and services to make your stay pleasurable. You may have to live among the locals and accept their way of life and environment. Instead of evaluating various facilities throughout the country, it would be beneficial if you were open to change. The motel accommodations will not be available to monks from Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland such as Mehka, Basa, and Anini. The location of family homes in these neighborhoods will determine your options. You can provide by choosing private lodging.

By choosing affordable homes, you will be able to provide more services to the locals, allowing them to generate money while also assisting them in improving their living conditions.

Conclusion:

Expensive vacations are often regarded as a waste of money. But those who take the plunge say they’re worth every penny.

Though these days, it is difficult to find an affordable trip. The prices of many destinations have also skyrocketed as a result of the rapid growth in tourism. This has given rise to budget-friendly alternatives such as homestay options and off-season travel, some things to be considered.

Introduction to Mizoram

Mizoram is a state in India, located in the north-eastern part of the nation. Mizoram’s capital city is Aizawl. With a total size of 21,087 sq km and 90% of the country covered by woods, hills, and valleys, the state ranks 24th in India.

Mizoram’s evergreen highlands are well-known. The mountains are crisscrossed by flowing rivers and stunning sparkling waterfalls. As a result, it’s known as Blue Mountains Country. A dense bamboo jungle can also be found there.

The words “Mizo” and “Ram” are combined to form the state’s name. Which is the result of the indigenous people’s name being “Mizo,” while the term “Ram” in the Mizo language means “land.” As a result, “Mizoram” translates to “Land of Mizos.”

The state of Mizoram shares a border with three other northeastern states: Assam, Manipur, and Assam and an international border with Bangladesh and Myanmar, its two neighbouring countries with a 722-kilometer border.

The state of Mizoram is divided into 11 districts: Aizawl, Lunglei, Champhai, Kolasib, Serchhip, Lawngtlai, Siaha, Hnahthial, Saitual, Mamit, and Khawzawl.

Life at Mizoram

Mizoram

Rice is Mizoram’s primary food, and Mizos prefer to use non-vegetarian items in all of their meals. Mizos eat a variety of foods, including fish, poultry, pig, and beef.

The state’s most important event, Chapchar Kut, takes place in March. It’s a spring festival that they commemorate with zeal and joy. Some of the state’s most well-known traditional dances include Cheraw, Khullam, Chheihlam, and Chai.

The ‘Puan’ is one of the traditional costumes worn by Mizoram ladies. During festivals, the majority of Mizo women wear puanchei. Pawl Kut and Chapchar Kut are the two primary outfits.

Mizoram Facts that lead to having the highest literacy rate in India

Language

Mizoram’s official languages are Mizo and English. For oral communication, the Mizo language is utilised by the people of the state. Yet, due to typically the value of training, management, administration and even bureaucracy, the English language is quite crucial for these people and is widespread.

The Duhlian dialect, often known as the Lusei, is the state’s indigenous language. As a result, it was given the name Mizo Language. A Christian evangelist penned the Mizo script.

As a result, writing is a hybrid of Roman Script and Hunterian translation, with remnants of an accent-based spelling system. The Mizo alphabet consists of 25 letters: A, AW, B, CH, D, E, F, G, NG, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, R, S, T (with a dot under T), U, V, and Z.

Because the Mizo language lacks its own script, it is written in English letters. As a result, reading and writing Mizo requires only rudimentary English skills. One of Mizoram’s official languages is English, which is a universal language.

Residents of the state speak English fluently, making it simple for them to read, write, and comprehend. As a result, the language contributes to Mizoram’s status as the country’s most literate state.

As a result, it offers specialised instruction as well as free textbooks and writing supplies to children with special needs. It also provides free uniforms to students from low-income families.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan scheme

The Mizoram state education department adopted the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan from fiscal year 2000 to 2001. It is using funds to fundFor example, train teachers and create a district strategy. For example, giving teacher training, drafting a district plan. Conducting a home survey and purchasing cars are examples.

Higher and Technical Education in Mizoram

The officer of Higher and Technical Education oversees higher education for the Mizoram state government. As a result, the company’s headquarters are on Mac Donald Hill in Zarkawt. For example, give teachers training, writing a district plan.

Higher education, technical education after high school, technical education at the diploma level, and language development are all under its purview. On-campus, there are additional 20 colleges.

Two training institutions, one for Hindi and the other for B.Ed., as well as two diploma programmes, are available.

Medium of Education

English is the predominant language of education in private schools, while Mizo is the primary language of instruction in government schools. At higher levels of education, however, English is the only language of instruction.

Tourism is an industry worth over $7 trillion annually. That’s one-quarter of the global economy! And this number has been steadily growing for years, with no signs of slowing down. Tackling sustainability in this industry will be no small feat. The good news is that there are plenty of ways for all types of vacationers to make their next trip more sustainable and help create a better world for future generations.

We often think of sustainability efforts in terms of our own personal habits. But when we take the time to consider the impacts of our tourism, we realize that many people can do much more than they think. To create a positive impact on the world through travel.

Tips for Living Sustainably

Knowledge about the importance of the environment should not be confined to a designated day. Much of our pollution is because we are careless with what we use and how we dispose of it. There are many ways that you can reduce your footprint on this earth, and below are some tips to help you get started.

The first step in living sustainably is to buy local produce. That way, food has not traveled far distances which means it has consumed less fuel and reduced the amount of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere. Secondly, buying seasonal produce reduces food waste. It will spoil before it can be eaten if not used up fast enough. Lastly, say no to plastic straws! These plastics are non-biodegradable. They negatively impact the environment by polluting our water sources and polluting our landfills with plastic that will never break down.

There are many sustainable travel accommodations available for all budgets. You can find hotels that provide eco-friendly or vegan options. You can also search online for sustainable vacation rentals, like Airbnb.

Another important consideration for sustainable travel is peak season. Try to avoid traveling during peak season when there are more tourists in the area and by that, you will be able to minimize your impact on the environment.

Caution:

Never purchase wildlife products. Whether it’s a fur coat or a piece of jewelry made from ivory or a pelt, these items only encourage poaching and other illegal hunting practices that contributed to the extinction of many species in the past. If you want tigers, elephants, rhinos, lions, etc roaming around freely in their natural habitat,  then stop purchasing their skins and teeth!

To be environmentally friendly, it is necessary to be conscious of what you are doing when you travel. With these simple steps, you can make your impact on the environment less harmful.

Places around the world are at risk. The natural beauty of these places is at risk. Humans are taking over and destroying natural resources all around the world. It is important to protect these places for future generations to come because they will not have the same serenity that we have now.

When traveling to exotic places, it is important to use sustainable alternatives.  There are many beautiful and exotic destinations around the world. However, it is important to use sustainable alternatives to travel because we want to protect the natural beauty of these places for future generations.

1. Planting trees in your hometown or in the country you are visiting

Planting trees is a great way to care for the environment and it has many benefits. Trees provide us with natural resources, shade, and oxygen. They also protect streams and rivers from erosion, regulate water flow, and provide habitats for animals.

2. Reduce, reuse, and recycle

Trees are also a renewable resource, meaning that they can be replanted and used again and again.

Trees are a natural way to filter out the bad air that we breathe and they also help us combat global warming.

3. Stay at environmental friendly local Guesthouses and homestays

The rise in the number of Airbnb properties has led to an increase in the number of travelers staying at homestays around the world. Homestays are generally more environmentally friendly than hotels and hostels because they promote sustainable tourism. They also offer a personal experience with local cultures by giving you the opportunity to meet locals and learn about their traditions.

4. Use public transport or local transport instead of private cars.

Increasing the use of public transport is one of the most important ways to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. For example, if you are living in an urban area, you can use public transport to go to work or school. If living in a suburb or rural area, you can start using car-sharing services instead of your private car.  While at your travel destination, Use public transport or local taxis instead of private cars. You could also choose not to take flights and use long-distance trains instead if available.

in Conclusion,

Support organizations that encourage sustainability. Another way you can do this is by donating to local charities that work closely with the grassroots level.

The idea of living a sustainable lifestyle is spreading like wildfire across the world. The environmental impacts of unsustainable lifestyles are becoming more and more apparent; our planet is in danger. We need to act now.
